Aluminum clad steel (ACS) wire consists of a central steel core with a layer of high-coductivity aluminum extruded over it . the aluminum layer forms a seamless metallurgical tie with th steel wire to guarantee permanent bonding during rewinding and stranding.
The aluminum kayer thickness is at least 10% of the wire radius and approximately 25% of the cross-sectional area.Conductivity is proportional to the aluminum kayer thickness .Conductivities ranging from 20% to 40ге IACS are available.
Aluminum Clad Steel cable is well known for its combination of corrosion resistance,high strength,and superior electrical conductivity.These properties make it an excellent either as overhead static wire (ground wire, OPGW ) or as guy strand.It can also be used as core strand ACSR conductors.
